Ages: 8 – 12
Summary: Teaching our kids to say “please and thank you” is good but instilling true gratitude is a different matter altogether.
Description: Gratitude goes beyond good manners and affects every aspect of our life as adults, from relationships to work. Actively practicing gratitude has been shown to increase happiness, hope, self-esteem, empathy, and optimism. Every one of us will face challenges in life, and every one of us has something to be grateful for at this moment. In this class kids will learn about the art of gratitude. What it means and how it can shape their everyday life. Each week consists of exploring the concept of gratitude followed by a weekly challenge to be completed outside of class.
Week one: What is gratitude? What kinds of things can we be grateful for? When should I be grateful?
Week two: How does gratitude work? How can I express love and gratitude to self?
Week three: Clarity on what makes me happy and how using gratitude can shift how I feel.
